Tasks

Tasks are how Silktide turns findings into assigned work. Create a task when something needs a person to change a website or document, then track status, priority, and assignee until it is done.

Tasks is a top-level area in Silktide, and the same tasks also appear where the work belongs: a website's task list, a Presence workspace's Tasks screen, and the Analytics sidebar. You can create a task from a finding in the Inspector so it keeps the page, check, and context that prompted it.

What you can do

  • Browse every task in the account as a list or a board, search by name or key, and filter by status, priority, assignee, or label.
  • Open a task to review its details and history, update status or priority, estimate effort, and assign someone.
  • Create a task from the Tasks area, or from a finding you are reviewing anywhere in Silktide.
  • Review proposed tasks - work suggested by AI reports, strategy briefs, and Silktide Agent - and accept or decline each one. Nothing proposed becomes real work until a person accepts it. Declining can reject the proposal with a reason, or postpone it until a date. Postponed tasks stay real work but are hidden from the board and list until that date unless you choose to show them.
  • Connect a task tracker so accepting a task creates the issue in the tool your team already uses.
  • Delete a task from its own screen, or select several on the list and delete them together.

Statuses

Every task moves through statuses your account can rename and reorder, grouped into familiar stages: proposed, backlog, to do, in progress, and finally done or cancelled. Rejecting a proposal cancels it rather than deleting it, and keeps the reason you gave. Later reports can use those reasons so they do not keep suggesting the same work.

Cancelling and deleting are different. A cancelled task stays on record, so later reports know you decided against that work. Deleting removes the task permanently, along with any record that a report proposed it, so later reports treat the work as if it had never been suggested.

Label tasks with your own vocabulary from Settings → Task labels.

Closing the loop

Closing a task does not itself prove the underlying issue is gone. After the fix is deployed, retest the website or document so Silktide can confirm the result.
