Silktide AI

Silktide uses AI to explain results, carry out deeper assessments, reduce false positives, and help you work with your account through Silktide Agent. AI supplements deterministic testing and human judgment; it does not replace either.

Accuracy

Silktide AI can make mistakes. Treat its answers as a starting point, not a final authority. Check anything important before you act on it, especially legal interpretations, policy claims, accessibility certification, and changes that are hard to undo.

Silktide Agent has more on when to verify Agent answers independently.

Features that require AI

Features that are better with AI

  • Task management can use the Agent to write, delegate, and organize work.
  • Custom checks can be drafted and tested with help from the Agent.
  • AI reports assess qualities that simple automated rules cannot reliably judge, such as whether a page communicates clearly or supports conversion.
  • Inspector explanations translate an issue into plain language and suggest practical fixes.
  • AI spell check reviews potential spelling errors to reduce false positives.

Features that do not require AI

Most of Silktide works without AI. This includes MCP, which lets ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, and other AI products use your Silktide account. MCP does not require turning on Silktide's own AI features.

Do I have to use AI?

No. AI is opt-in at the account level. Until an administrator enables it, Silktide still works; AI surfaces invite someone with permission to finish setup. Organizations that cannot use AI under their agreement will not see those invitations.

A website can also exclude its own content from AI. When it does, website AI reports and related invitations hide for that site only. Checks stays the main place to work; Tasks remains available one step away.

If the account is on a plan that does not include AI, those invitations still appear and explain that the plan does not cover AI, instead of opening setup.

Your controls

Everything is on one screen: Settings > AI. Account administrators decide two separate things there.

Which AI providers may process your account's data. Nothing runs on a provider you have not enabled, and that includes Silktide's own staff working in your account. You choose a region first (United States or European Union), then enable providers from the set that region offers. Each provider is named with its contracting entity.

What the AI is allowed to do. Silktide Agent, website AI reports, and Analytics AI reports are the product-level choices. Finer switches (Agent vision, web search, image analysis, and the rest) stay on the same screen. Individual permissions still apply: enabling an account feature does not grant a user access to data or actions they could not otherwise use.

Agent edit mode is deliberately separate from ordinary chat. The user must have the relevant permission and turn edit mode on before the Agent can perform supported write actions.

Every consent granted or withdrawn is recorded on that screen, with who did it and how.
