What does Silktide do with my data?

Silktide is a hosted product. To test and report, it stores data such as:

  • Your users (names, email addresses) and role assignments
  • Activity logs (for example who started a test or approved a spelling)
  • Website configuration, including keywords and custom checks
  • Tested page content: HTML, resources, screenshots, and history needed for results

For most customers, that means public website content. If you test password-protected or internal sites, credentials and page captures can be more sensitive - use dedicated test accounts with minimal access.

Where data lives

Silktide offers regional hosting (for example, the EU and US). Your account is placed in a region appropriate to your contract. Silktide is not available as an on-premises install. See Does Silktide offer an on-premises version?.

Deleting data

  • Deleting a user removes their personal details promptly; anonymised action logs may remain until requested for removal.
  • Deleting a website removes configuration (including stored login details) immediately; some artifacts such as screenshots are purged shortly afterwards.

For formal destruction or personal-data requests, see:

AI features have additional rules - see What does Silktide AI do with my data?.
