Title promise is kept

Whether the page's title matches both what searchers need to see and what the content actually delivers.

The title works in two directions. To rank, it must signal the target topic clearly enough for a search engine to consider the page a candidate. To keep the visit, it must promise only what the page delivers – a title that overpromises earns clicks that bounce, and a mismatch between title and content muddies what the page is about.

When this is flagged

The report flags this when the title promises something the content does not deliver, or fails to signal the target topic a searcher scanning the results would need to choose this page.

How to fix it

Rewrite the title to say plainly what the page offers, using the words searchers use for the target topic. Then check the content keeps that promise in its first screen – the visitor who clicked should immediately see they came to the right place.
