AEO reports

An AEO report is an on-demand AI analysis of a single page. Where our regular AEO checks test every page for the same fixable issues, an AEO report puts an AI agent to work on one page: it reads the content and its , probes what an actually receives, works out the questions the page answers, and then asks the major AI assistants those questions live - ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity - to see whether they mention or cite your site, and who they cite instead. It gives you a judgement you can act on: an AEO score, a plain-language summary, the assistants' real answers, and a short list of prioritised findings.

The measured answers come from each provider's API with web search enabled - close to, but not identical to, what the consumer apps answer. See AI assistant market share for why these assistants are the ones worth measuring.

Running a report

Start an AEO report from Deep dives in a Presence workspace: paste or search for a URL, including a competitor's, choose AEO, and select Analyse. The report opens straight away and writes itself as the agent works. It takes a few minutes, because querying several assistants takes time; you can watch it investigate, or keep working while it runs.

Every report you run is listed on Deep dives, with each page's score, status, and when it was generated. Sort by score to find your weakest pages first.

Reading the report

A report is a document of its own, with an On this page outline down the left. It opens with pictures of the page on a tablet and a phone, the report's title, its score, the web page, and the date, followed by a verdict in a few sentences. SEO reports share the same layout.

  • The AEO score summarises how ready the page is to be read, understood, trusted, and cited by AI assistants. It is computed from the report's checks: every check the AI judges has a fixed weight, so every point lost corresponds to a flagged check you can see. Nothing invisible moves the score.
  • Checks lists the problems to fix, most important first, using the same priority levels as the rest of Silktide. Each belongs to one of the fixed report checks. The priority is the check's, so the same problem always carries the same urgency, and each names its check with help one click away. Checks that passed, did not apply, or were ignored are grouped below, so you can see exactly what the AI judged.
  • AI platforms shows each question the page targets with the assistants' actual answers, captured word for word when they were asked: whether each assistant mentioned your site, whether it cited you as a source, and which competitors it cited instead.
  • Competitors are the sites the assistants turned to instead.
  • Recommendations are the next steps. On your own pages they can become tasks.

If the page changes after the report was written, the report says so under its date. It stays readable because you paid for it, and Re-run in the report's options menu writes a fresh edition.
