Clickmaps and scrollmaps
Clickmaps show where tracked visitors interact with a page. Scrollmaps show how far visitors travel down it.
The Clicks and Scroll screens also chart the site as a whole over the period you picked: every click, and how far an average visitor scrolled, day by day. Open a page from the table when you need the map for that URL.
Use maps to form hypotheses:
- Important controls receive little interaction.
- Non-interactive content appears clickable.
- Visitors do not reach essential information.
- Mobile and desktop behaviour differs.
Maps aggregate many visits and may not line up perfectly after a page design changes. Select a suitable date range and page version, then combine the visual pattern with events, funnels, and qualitative research.
