Compliance

Compliance asks whether a website meets the minimum standards you have chosen to monitor. It is a customisable governance area, not a complete legal or security audit.

Which rules apply is a per-website choice. The module starts by asking what you need to comply with: record where the site operates and what kind of organisation it is, and Silktide suggests the regulations that likely apply - you still turn each one on or off. Documents inherit the website's selection.

A criterion belongs to one module. Enablement is on or off for that website. PDF checks use the stored conformance verdict for the file, so the Compliance score and the document grade are reading the same result.

The Compliance overview, showing its score, the latest strategy, the requirements table, the compliance map, and what is costing the most points.

Reading the overview

  • Overall score combines the enabled Compliance criteria and tracks them across tests.
  • Requirements table lists each regulation or criterion you enabled, with its score, trend, and open issues.
  • Compliance map shades the places you told Silktide the site operates, by how it scores there: on track, needs attention, at risk, or still testing.
  • Costing you most lists the checks removing the most points from the score, so the top of the list is where fixes count most.
  • Pages and PDFs show where compliance findings occur.
  • Decisions records reviewed exceptions and outcomes.

Use Edit requirements from the overview to change the regulations and criteria this website is assessed against. The same questions run when you add a website, so you choose requirements before the site is created.

The exact checks in Compliance can vary considerably between accounts. Customers may add criteria and custom checks for brand, legal, policy, technical, or security baselines.

Library policies

Library policies are reusable policy definitions that can be applied to a website. They help organisations standardise expectations instead of recreating the same rules independently.

Interpret results carefully

Silktide can test observable website conditions, such as whether a page links to a privacy policy or includes a consent mechanism. It cannot determine every legal obligation or certify that your organisation is compliant with a law. Use qualified legal, privacy, and security advice where appropriate.
