Search rankings screen
Search rankings tracks organic positions on the search engines you measure, for the Silktide already asks in this . It is the search-engine counterpart to assistant visibility: where you land on the results page, not whether an AI answer named you.
Turn on at least one search platform under Settings → Platforms before the screen can show anything.
Before reading the numbers, read How search rankings are measured. It covers the three things that decide what every figure here means: we read the first 20 results and stop, click share is what to compare brands on, and visible means page 1.
The scope you are reading
Everything on the screen answers for one set of queries, chosen by the controls at the top:
- The shared filters - dates, topics, brands, and Search engines - as on every Presence report screen.
- Queries, which is this screen's own filter: non-branded by default, because ranking first for your own name tells you nothing you did not know. Switch it to branded, or to both.
How you compare
The landing tab, and the summary.
It opens with a sentence: how many of the measured queries you appear on page 1 for, against the best brand you track. Under it, every tracked brand's coverage as a bar on the same scale, split into the four bands that matter - Top 3, Rest of page 1, Page 2, Not found. Not found draws as open field rather than an alarm, because it is the normal state: most brands are absent for most queries in any workspace, and the leader's bar is mostly open field too. A line at the foot of the card compares the same questions on the AI channel - the share of AI answers that name you - with a door to Visibility.
Your next wins lists the queries where your best position is on page 2: found, not yet visible, one push from the page people actually read. Each names what the win is worth (monthly searches), where you sit, and the page already carrying the ranking - usually the page worth improving. The card only appears when something is in reach.
Click share follows, with its trend over time (weekly by default) and a line per brand you track. Beside it, the standings: every tracked brand ranked by click share, with movement since the previous window. Click a brand to open the queries behind its number.
The table below carries the same brands with their full detail (click share, how many queries they rank for, average rank, best position, top 3, page 1), and beneath them the untracked sites holding places in these results, most page-1 wins first, in two blocks: Rivals you could track, each a Track away from joining your scoreboard, and Publishers and communities - Wikipedia, Reddit and their kind, listed so the results page adds up but not offered as competitors. Untracked sites have no click share: it is computed for the brands on your roster.
What you rank for
One row per query, with your position on each engine, what changed since the previous window, and the URL sitting at number one. Add a competitor with Compare with to put their positions alongside yours.
Change counts places gained, so a rise up the page is a positive number. It is blank when either window has no position for you - arriving from nowhere is not a number of places.
Monthly searches holds three different facts and none of them is zero: Unknown means we have not looked it up, No data means the provider had none, and a figure of 0 means nobody searches for it.
Click a query to open its detail chart and history.
Your pages
Which URLs on a brand's sites earn its rankings. Expand a page to see the queries it ranks for and where. Use Pages for to look at a competitor's pages instead of your own - the page beating you is usually more useful than the fact that it beat you.
Rank here is not rank in an AI answer
| Search rankings (this screen) | Rank in Presence | |
|---|---|---|
| Question | Where do I appear on the results page? | When a brand is named in an assistant answer, how early does it appear? |
| Platforms | The search engines you enable | ChatGPT, Perplexity, and the other assistant platforms you enable |
Positions on this screen are always the real place on the results page. Read Rank for competitive rank among tracked brands in assistant answers.
