Criteria
Criteria are the named areas of concern your scores are built from: flat, understandable groups of checks such as SEO & AEO, Writing, or , sitting directly inside a module. You can review what each one contains and add criteria of your own.
Every score starts at 100, and each check in a criterion can take points off, up to its impact. Criteria group those checks into the parts of a module score; see How scoring changed in Silktide 5. Open any module's How it's scored breakdown to see the whole chain.
Managing criteria
Manage criteria from Website settings → Criteria in the Sites area. It is an account-wide testing policy: the catalogue applies to every website you test.
- Review criteria by module. Each criterion shows its module, its weight, and the checks inside it.
- Open a criterion to see and change its checks, drawing from the checks library.
- Create a criterion for a policy specific to your organisation, from built-in checks and custom checks.
A check can belong to more than one criterion, and through them to more than one module - , for example, matters to both Accessibility and Content.
Compliance criteria are chosen per website
Most criteria apply everywhere. Compliance is the exception: each website chooses which regulations and compliance criteria it is assessed against, from that website's Compliance overview. The catalogue here defines what those criteria contain; the website decides whether they apply.
Changing criteria changes scores
Editing a criterion changes how future results are grouped and scored. Review the affected checks before saving, and use Checks when you need to change a check's status or priority rather than its criterion membership.
