What we test screen

What we test controls which URLs belong in a or .

What we test with Allowed rules selected, the Add rule row, and one URL-starting rule.

Allowed rules

Allowed rules describe URL patterns Silktide may include. Start with the website or section you intend to cover, then make the rule only as broad as necessary.

Denied rules

Denied rules remove matching URLs from that allowed scope. Use them for areas such as account pages, duplicate archives, or paths that should not be tested.

Forced pages

Forced pages tell Silktide to include specific important URLs even when they are not discovered through normal links. A forced page still needs to be reachable when the test runs.

Rules support several match types, including URL beginnings and endings, text matches, regular expressions, and URL-length conditions. Case sensitivity is optional. Test carefully when using regular expressions because a broad expression can include or exclude far more than intended.

After changing rules, run a new test and review Inventory coverage. Authentication, redirects, crawlability, page allowances, and advanced crawler settings can also affect what is found. For the model behind these controls - including why the whole website is URL-only - see Scope rules.
