Advanced screen

Advanced settings change how Silktide loads and interprets one website. These controls can materially change coverage and results. Keep defaults unless you have a specific testing need.

Crawling and page loading

Control parallel requests, link discovery, fragments, URL normalisation, sitemaps, page timeouts, extra wait time, query parameters, and other loading behaviour. For when to change each control, see Loading a page. Lower parallel requests if the website rate-limits testing. Add an extra wait only for pages that need more time to render client-side content.

Languages

Set required and optional website languages. When Trust page-declared language is enabled, a page's declared language, such as its HTML lang value, can be used as its primary language.

These settings establish website expectations; see how languages work for how they combine with page declarations, URL rules, and per-page overrides. The Inventory Languages screen shows the language resolved for each page and lets you add URL rules for exceptions.

Authentication and proxy

Use HTTP authentication for a website protected by Basic, Digest, or NTLM authentication. Proxy controls can route testing traffic through an available preset or a custom proxy - see Where Silktide connects from. Store credentials only when they are required for testing.

Checks, analytics, and Inspector

Advanced options can change treatment, embedded third-party findings, benchmarking, analytics loading during tests, and website-specific Inspector presentation. Change these only when your testing policy calls for it.

Saved changes take effect on the next test.
