Page maps in the Inspector

When Analytics is connected, the Inspector can draw how people actually use the page you are looking at. Three maps sit as layers on the same preview:

  • Click map shows where visitors click.
  • Frustration map marks clicks that did not lead anywhere, a sign of friction.
  • Scroll map shows how far down the page people typically reach.

You can switch any combination on at once. Drag the list to change which layer draws on top. A 3D tilt is available when only one map is enabled.

Point at the preview on a click map to read the densest spot under the pointer. Frustration marks show the kind of friction and nearby text when you point at them.

A volume strip under the preview lets you move through time, so you can see whether a hot spot is recent or has been there for a while. Date range and location filters match those in Analytics, so the map can show the same window as the report you came from.

On the 3D click map, a small overview shows where you are on the page.

These maps require visitor data for that page. Without Analytics, the Inspector still shows issues, source, and the other inspection tools.
