Review analytics solutions used
Silktide lists the analytics solutions detected on each page of your website so you can confirm they are what you expect. Analytics tools measure who visits your site and how they behave.
Websites accumulate analytics over time: an old product that was never removed, a duplicate tag added by two teams, or a tracker introduced by an embedded widget nobody audited. This check surfaces everything found so you can approve what belongs and remove what does not.
Why this matters
Unexpected analytics is both a performance and a privacy problem. Every extra tracking script slows your pages down, and trackers you did not knowingly deploy may collect visitor data your privacy policy does not disclose - a compliance risk under regulations such as . Duplicate solutions can also double-count visits, quietly corrupting the numbers you make decisions with.
How to fix it
This check asks you to verify the findings rather than fix a defect:
- Review each detected solution - its name and version are shown, with the pages it appears on.
- the solutions you expect. Approved solutions are not raised again.
- Where something unexpected appears, track down how it is loaded - a leftover snippet in a template, a tag manager entry, or a third-party embed - and remove it, then re-scan to confirm it is gone.
How Silktide tests this
- Load each page in a real web browser, so analytics added by scripts and tag managers is included.
- Examine the loaded page for the fingerprints of known analytics solutions - the scripts, variables, and markup each product leaves.
- List every analytics solution found, with its version where identifiable, for you to review and approve.
Troubleshooting
A solution we use is not listed
Silktide detects known analytics products by their fingerprints. Server-side or log-based measurement leaves no trace in the page, and analytics loaded only after a visitor accepts your cookie banner may be absent when Silktide loads the page.
