Favicons
Silktide lists the favicons your website uses. Favicons are the small icons browsers show for your site in tabs, bookmarks, and on mobile devices' home screens.
This is an inventory rather than a test: it shows every found across your pages, including the icon image itself, so you can see at a glance what browsers and devices will display for your site.
Why this matters
Favicons are a small but persistent piece of your brand: they identify your site among a visitor's open tabs and bookmarks. Because they are set up once and rarely revisited, it is common for parts of a website - especially older sections, subdomains, or a separately built area - to carry an outdated logo, a default icon left by the or hosting platform, or no icon at all. Seeing every favicon in one place makes those inconsistencies easy to spot.
How Silktide tests this
- On each page, read the
<link>tags in the page's head whoserelattribute includesicon, and record each icon's URL, image type, and declared sizes. - Also try the conventional fallback location,
/favicon.icoat the root of the site, and include it when it exists and is a valid image. - List every favicon found, with the pages that use it.
