MCP

lets AI products you already use work with your Silktide account. You do not need to know how the connection works. Pick a product on this screen and follow the steps.

Choose a tool

The screen is built around the product you want to connect:

  1. Choose ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor.
  2. Follow the steps shown for that product.
  3. Sign in to Silktide when asked, and allow access.

Cursor has a one-click Add to Cursor button. ChatGPT and Claude ask you to paste an address into their connector settings. That address is just a : a link that tells the product where Silktide is.

ChatGPT works in its desktop app and on chatgpt.com. Both start from Settings, then Plugins, but the form you fill in differs, so the screen shows both.

Using a different AI product

If your product is not listed, open Using a different AI product? and copy the connector address. Paste it where that product asks for a connector or MCP server, then sign in to Silktide. You do not need an API key for this hosted connection.

What a connected product can do

A connected product can do what Silktide Agent does in the app. It can look at your websites, test results, issues, tasks, and goals, explain how a check works and how to fix what it found, and search Help. It works in the account you chose when you connected, and it only sees what your own user can see.

It starts out only able to read. Changes follow the same rules as Agent's Edit mode: an account admin has to turn on Agent edit actions on the AI screen, and your role has to allow AI edit mode. The product may also ask you to confirm before it changes anything.

Tests and other requests that use your plan count toward it, as they do in the app. A connected product can make a limited number of these each minute and each hour.

Who can connect

You need permission to use AI, and the account has to allow AI. If either is taken away, a product that is already connected stops working on its next request.

The conversation itself runs on the connected product's own AI, so the AI providers chosen on the AI screen do not apply to it. When the product asks Silktide to do something that uses Silktide's AI, that work still uses only the providers your account enabled.

Agent is the assistant inside Silktide. MCP is how an external AI product reaches Silktide. You can connect one even when Agent is turned off.

Run it on your own computer

Developers can optionally run the connection on their own computer instead of using the hosted address. That path is under Run this on your own computer on the screen, and uses the open-source silktide-mcp package. ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor do not need it.
