Subprocessor
A subprocessor is another organisation that handles on your behalf, under a written contract. In Silktide, each AI provider you enable is a subprocessor: Silktide is already processing your account's data, and that provider receives what it needs so the AI can complete the work.
The word comes from the , the EU's data protection law, but the same idea appears in UK, Swiss, and many other privacy laws. Organisations typically have to know which subprocessors they use, keep a record of them, and have a contract with each one. Enabling a provider on the AI screen is how you permit that organisation to process your account's data.
Each provider's data processing addendum (DPA) is that contract. It sets out what the provider may do with the data, how long it keeps it, and the security measures it must apply.
