HTTPS
HTTPS is the secure version of HTTP, the protocol browsers use to fetch web pages. The "S" means the connection is encrypted, so nobody between the visitor and the website can read or tamper with what is sent - including passwords and personal details.
Browsers mark plain HTTP pages as "not secure", and search engines favour HTTPS. Modern websites should serve every page over HTTPS and redirect HTTP requests to it.
