Silktide AI with a keyboard or screen reader
This page explains how to use Silktide Agent and AI reports with a keyboard or a . For features that work on every screen, such as shortcuts, themes, zoom, and how to read a chart, see Accessibility features.
Silktide Agent
- Press ⌘⇧A on Mac or Ctrl+Shift+A on Windows or Linux to open or close the Agent from any screen. Focus moves to the message field when it opens.
- The Agent opens in a panel named Silktide Agent. Close Agent closes it and returns focus to where you were, and Open full screen gives it the whole screen.
- Press Enter to send a message, and Shift+Enter to start a new line. While the Agent is working, the send button becomes Stop.
- While the Agent works, a status line says what it is doing, in a status region that screen readers can announce without moving your focus.
- Each reply has a Copy message button, and charts in a reply open as a table with Expand.
Read an AI report
- Each section of a report has its own heading. On wide screens, On this page lists the sections as links.
- A report is marked with the language it is written in, so your screen reader pronounces it correctly.
- A report runs in the background. Its progress bar is named Report progress, and Silktide sends you a notification when it is ready.
Edit an AI report
Edit turns editing on and off. While you edit:
- Your screen reader announces whether your changes are saved: "Saving…", "All changes saved", or "Not saved".
- Press Alt+F10 or Ctrl+F6 to move to the formatting toolbar, and Escape to go back to your text.
- Press ⌘⌥2 or Ctrl+Alt+2 for a heading, ⌘⌥3 or Ctrl+Alt+3 for a subheading, and ⌘⌥0 or Ctrl+Alt+0 for body text.
- Press Alt+Enter (Option+Enter on Mac) to add a block below the one you are in.
- To change a chart's values, use Edit the data, a form with a labeled field for each value.
- When you ask Silktide AI to suggest a change, focus moves to the suggestion, with added and removed text marked. Press ⌘Enter or Ctrl+Enter to accept it, or Escape to discard it.
You never need to drag a block. Each block's move handle is in the Tab order: press Enter to choose where it goes from Move to…, or Space to lift it, the arrow keys to move it, and Space again to drop it. Your screen reader announces where the block is as you move it.
