Core Web Vitals
Core Web Vitals are Google's standard measurements of how a page feels to use. The three metrics are:
- (Largest Contentful Paint) - how quickly the main content appears
- (Interaction to Next Paint) - how soon the page responds to taps and clicks
- (Cumulative Layout Shift) - how much the layout jumps while loading
They matter because Google uses them as a search ranking signal, and because they capture real user frustration. Heavy images, slow scripts, and late-loading content are the usual causes of poor scores.
Silktide reports these as controlled lab measurements (one load, with your configured device and connection). Field tools that aggregate many real visits can legitimately differ without either being wrong.
