Keyboard shortcuts

Silktide 5 includes keyboard shortcuts so you can open common tools quickly. Press ⌘/ on Mac or Ctrl+/ on Windows or Linux to see the full list at any time. You can also open that list from the Help menu under Keyboard shortcuts.

The command palette

Press ⌘K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows or Linux to open the command palette. Type to filter the commands available to you right now, then press Enter to run the highlighted one. The palette is the fastest way to act without reaching for the mouse, and it grows as new commands are added.

If you can switch between accounts, the palette lists Switch to account commands for the accounts you used most recently (up to three, newest first), then Switch to any account. Type the account name or "switch to account" to jump back without opening the account menu. Press ⌘⇧O (Ctrl+Shift+O on Windows or Linux) to open the searchable switcher for every account you can use.

Mac and Windows

Shortcuts use different modifier keys on each platform:

  • Mac: ⌘ is the Command key.
  • Windows and Linux: use Ctrl instead of ⌘.

The in-app shortcuts list always shows the keys for the device you are using.

Agent opens or closes the Silktide Agent panel. Search this website opens website search when you are viewing a website. Help opens the help panel; it does not fire while you are typing in a field. Keyboard shortcuts opens this reference as an overlay.

Previous item and Next item move you through a list without going back to it. Open a task from a list of tasks and press J or K to read the next or previous one; the header shows where you are, such as "3 of 24". Neither fires while you are typing in a field.

More commands and shortcuts will be added over time. Whenever a menu action has a shortcut, the keys appear next to the item.
