How does Silktide calculate scores?

Silktide scores run from 0 (very poor) to 100 (perfect). Scores are meant to be honest, not flattering.

Every score starts at 100. Each check that applies to your site can take points off, up to its impact, and takes more the worse your site does. A check's result blends:

  • how many pages are affected, and
  • how many issues appear on affected pages

Checks are grouped into criteria, and criteria into the parts of each module (Content, Accessibility, User Experience, Compliance). Accounts that used Silktide 4 can open What changed in your score on a website module to compare the two scores from the same scan. See How scoring changed in Silktide 5 for the full explanation.

Fixing issues and retesting improves scores. Decisions such as ignoring or approving an issue can update scores without waiting for a full retest.
