Education tier

Education tier expresses text difficulty as the stage of schooling a reader would typically need to follow it comfortably: Primary, Lower secondary, Upper secondary, or Tertiary (university level). The tiers follow the international ISCED classification of education levels.

It is one of three scales Silktide offers for the same readability measurement, alongside reading age and CEFR. Accessibility guidance often references it directly: WCAG recommends general content should not require more than a lower secondary education to understand.
