Coleman-Liau Index

The Coleman-Liau Index estimates the US school grade a reader needs to understand a text, from the average number of letters per word and of sentences per 100 words. It counts letters instead of syllables. Meri Coleman and T. L. Liau published it in 1975.

Silktide adds 5 to the grade to give a reading age.
